Ballinger is pleased to announce the relocation of our studio to Philadelphia’s vibrant Logan Square neighborhood. The move, scheduled for May 2025, will mark Ballinger’s 147th year of design innovation in the city.

Since 2003, our firm has called the 14th floor of 833 Chestnut Street home, leveraging its large floorplate to fuel collaboration amongst in-house designers, architects, and engineers. From our perch above the Market East neighborhood, we have designed complex buildings and untangled planning challenges for prominent healthcare, higher education, civic, and corporate clients. “For over 20 years, our space on Chestnut Street has enabled the integration of planning, architecture, interior design, and engineering, which we see as key to the design of sustainable and transformative buildings,” said Ballinger Senior Principal Terry D. Steelman, FAIA, LEED AP

Ballinger’s 250-person staff will move into two floors at 1650 Arch Street, a LEED Gold Certified tower with on-site access to Suburban Station. The move will accommodate our expanding national profile and enable a work environment that responds to today’s evolving needs.

We have designed office environments for leading universities, pharmaceutical companies, and consulting firms, helping clients optimize utilization, flexibility, and functionality to enhance the employee experience. “Our studio relocation is an opportunity for us to apply our strategic workplace thinking to our own space,” said Ballinger Senior Principal Todd Drake, AIA, LEED AP. “Advances in technology continue to offer new opportunities for interaction and collaboration that will be reflected in the design of our new space.”

While Ballinger practices nationally, we maintain deep roots in Philadelphia. Our local clients include Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, the University of Pennsylvania, Wexford Science and Technology, Drexel University, the City of Philadelphia, the Barnes Foundation, and the Calder Foundation, among others.
