Drexel University’s Health Sciences Building won a 2023 Award of Merit in the category of Higher Education/Research from Engineering News-Record Mid-Atlantic. Nominations in the “Best Projects”
competition are evaluated based on the project team’s ability to overcome challenges, contributions to construction industry innovation, community impact, safety and construction, and design quality.
Constructed at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, this 500,000 GSF building is part of a transformative development in West Philadelphia. It was developed by Wexford Science and Technology and the team of Turner and Perryman Construction served as construction manager. Ballinger was designer, architect, and engineer of record. FIFTEEN collaborated with us on interior architecture and WFT who served as the plumbing engineer. The building enables professional connections and collaboration between Drexel University’s College of Nursing and Health Professions, College of Medicine, and the Graduate School.
The project will be featured in the October issue of Engineering News-Record and celebrated at an upcoming awards ceremony in Baltimore, Maryland.
