Kiewit Hall at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln has been honored with the ASHRAE Nebraska Chapter Technology Award for Institutional Facilities.
The award, which recognizes high-performance engineering and design, was presented at the ASHRAE President’s Lunch on May 22 in Omaha, NE. Designed by Ballinger and Clark & Enersen, Kiewit Hall features dual wheel energy recovery, chilled beams, and a heat pump chiller with geothermal integration to reduce energy usage. These high-efficiency systems work in concert with enhanced ventilation strategies, ample access to daylight, and sustainable material selections to create healthy, comfortable interior environments.
