The Maternal and Infant Health Innovation Center, designed by Ballinger, was recognized by the New Jersey Alliance for Action as one of New Jersey’s Leading Capital Construction Projects. The program highlights innovative, pioneering and landmark construction initiatives that positively impact the state’s economy. Ballinger’s Angela Fante, PE, LEED AP and Sara Ridenour, AIA, LEED AP accepted the award with the New Jersey Economic Development Authority’s (NJEDA) Stephen T. Martorana at a ceremony on March 24.

The Center, currently under construction, is the manifestation of the mission of Nurture NJ, First Lady Tammy Murphy’s legacy initiative to ensure healthcare equality throughout the state of New Jersey. The 68,000 SF building will provide pre- and post-natal clinical services; family health services; education programs to cultivate the perinatal workforce; and social and wrap-around services. It will also serve as an innovation incubator and hub for pre-natal care impact and resource development. With seamless access to public transit, Monument Park, and nearby canal paths, the Center will invite families from across New Jersey into a welcoming environment rooted in dignity and care.
