Riverview Wellness Village Tour: Integrating Health, Housing, and Community
Share

Riverview Wellness Village will be the subject of a guided tour on May 19, led by Isabel McDevitt and Pedro Pinto of the City of Philadelphia, and Ballinger Principal Stephen M. Bartlett, AIA, LEED AP.
Hosted by the Philadelphia chapter of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), the tour offers ULI members an opportunity to experience Riverview Wellness Village firsthand and hear directly from project leaders about the vision, implementation, and early impact of this innovative public-sector investment in health, housing, and community resilience.
Riverview Wellness Village is a transformative, city-led initiative in Northeast Philadelphia redefining how cities support long-term recovery from substance use disorder and homelessness. The multi-phase project, designed by Ballinger, is part of Philadelphia’s broader “Wellness Ecosystem,” filling a critical gap between inpatient treatment and independent living.
Situated on a historic 20-acre campus along the Delaware River, the Village provides dignified, recovery-oriented housing combined with integrated services, including behavioral and physical health care, workforce development, and life-skills programming. Through the adaptive reuse of an existing campus, Riverview will serve 225 residential participants, with plans for future phases to grow into a 600-bed campus.
