The University of Wisconsin-Madison Chemistry Tower project won first place in the Commercial Category of Institutional/Higher Education at the 2024 Interior Design Awards (IDA) Gala on September 26. Hosted by the Pennsylvania East Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), the IDAs celebrate excellence in interior design of commercial and residential spaces.
Winner of multiple awards, the Chemistry Tower’s interior design strategy pairs the characteristics of the building structure with colors found in chemical reactions. The approach reinforces the university brand and brings meaning to a selective set of accent colors that represent the building’s program: bold red (commons), vibrant green (teaching and research), and vivid blue (support).
