Virginia Commonwealth University’s STEM Building Awarded LEED Gold

Virginia Commonwealth University’s STEM Building was recently certified LEED Gold by the U.S. Green Building Council. Sustainability and resiliency are integral to the building design, resulting in a 71% reduction in energy use intensity compared to AIA 2030 benchmarks and a 31% potable water use reduction vs. EPA standards. Approximately 87% of the building’s construction waste was diverted from landfills.
The award-winning, 168,000 SF building was designed in collaboration with Quinn Evans. Read more about how it was designed with goodwill in mind.
