The Yale University Chemical Safety Building received first place in the Higher Education – Large category in the Connecticut Building Congress (CBC) Project Team Awards.

Juried by industry professionals, the annual awards program honors outstanding building projects that demonstrate excellence in collaboration among owners, architects, engineers, constructors, and trade partners.

The 20,000 SF Chemical Safety Building reflects a strong partnership among Yale University, Ballinger, TenBerke, Turner Construction Company, and trade partners. Designed to support research and campus safety, the facility strengthens Yale’s safety infrastructure while accommodating future growth. It is one part of Yale’s Upper Science Hill Development, a 611,000 SF complex for quantum science, engineering, and materials initiatives.

Award winners will be recognized at the 2026 CBC’s 30th Annual Project Team Awards, to be held in Southington, Connecticut on June 9.
