Ballinger Senior Principals Eric Swanson, AIA and Louis Meilink, FAIA, FACHA, ACHE, along with landscape architect Jonathan Alderson, presented “Feel the Biophilia: Humanizing Healthcare Design” at the annual Healthcare Design Conference. Their talk explored how nature in healthcare design promotes physical, social and mental well-being, as well as tactical considerations for implementing biophilic design concepts. The presentation included case studies of Penn Medicine: Lancaster General Health, Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute and Tower Health’s Reading HealthPlex for Advanced Surgical and Patient Care. The conference, held this year in Phoenix, showcases research, trends and strategies in the healthcare design industry.
