Leonard Mecca appreciates a smoothly running system. As a plumbing designer, he develops strategies that keep buildings functioning while devising systems that can be maintained as efficiently and cost effectively as possible. His plumbing designs are for diverse systems, from medical and laboratory gases to stormwater drainage reclamation systems, balancing environmental and operational priorities. He also enjoys research into new technologies in the service of clients. Since joining the practice in 2012, he has applied his expertise in design, system studies, and standards development to help deliver projects for clients including Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Penn Medicine.
