Activity-Based Workspace

Following the global health pandemic’s disruption of in-person work, a long-term client in the pharmaceutical industry sought to reimagine space in their suburban headquarters building for the return of sales, marketing, and data sciences professionals. Ballinger designed a 32,000 SF activity-based workspace that supports the efforts of these employees by accommodating a variety of workstyles and creating vibrancy for team members returning to in-person work.

home base for hybrid staff

From collaborative tables to work-focused soft seating, this light-filled space accommodates all types of team-working situations. Renovating a space on a budget, the client converted all of the perimeter office spaces to glass enclosed collaborative spaces designed to accommodate a variety of activities that support the teams working in the space.  With plentiful natural light and a diversity of seating options that encourage interaction, the design supports employee wellness, socialization and collaboration. This workspace is the latest in a series of fit-outs, focused on modernizing existing office space, each informed by user input and post-occupancy evaluations of completed spaces.
